Another Pergola

We now have another pergola!  This one is built of cedar and is fastened to the planter on the northwest corner of the terrace.  It is cantilevered slightly and it will help frame the "living room" area of the terrace.  There will be a bench built beneath the pergola, also supported by the planter.

Preparing the Cedar

Not much excitement today.  The crew spent the day staining the cedar planks to be used for the pergolas.

Final Planter Almost Done

The second pergola will be mounted in this planter.  It won't be as big as the other pergola and will be made of cedar rather than steel.

This is where the final grey birch will be placed.

This really shows the final footprint of the terrace.

Last Planters Started

The last of the planters has been started.  These two pics show the base of the planters.

This is just a shot of some of the stone that will wrap the kitchen.

With the last of the planters started, we can now see the entire footprint of the terrace design.

There will be a bench added along the planter on the northwest (upper left) side.

More Kitchen Framing and New Plants

The northwest side of the terrace is clear and ready for more planters and another (smaller) pergola.

The kitchen is coming along.  Metal framing for the grill, which will be centered straight ahead.

Kitchen Started

Framing for the kitchen was started today.  It's located adjacent to the reading nook planters, which seem to be ready for planting.

New Colors

We now have some color on the terrace.  Because of space issues, the crew is planting the planters as they are built.  This frees up areas that still need to be built.
